Another common problem that children often face is Somnabulism and Somniloquy. Somnabulism refers to walking during sleep and is a more serious condition. While, Somniloquy refers to talking while being asleep. This disorder may vary from a kind of restlessness while sleeping to even walking the whole house while sleeping.

This condition is more common in school boys than school girls. Sleepwalking is very dangerous in the sense that the child can fall from the balcony or from the stairs. So if your child suffers from this condition then the first thing that you should do is shift the room of your child to a safer place. All windows and doors of the house should be firmly locked.

Parents should never intervene sleepwalking by shaking, shouting or slapping the child. In many cases the condition of sleepwalking is solved as the child becomes matured.

Also another effective method is to keep a diary of the time when the child does sleepwalking. Here the parent should study the patterns of sleepwalking and recognize the time at which the child gets up for walking unconsciously everyday. Then everyday just 15 minutes before sleepwalking takes place you need to wake up the child and keep him busy with some thing for at least 5 minutes. This method to deal with children sleeping problems has proved effective in at least 80 percent of the cases.
